WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR: Back-End Web Applications Developer – European Commission
We are seeking an experienced Back-End Developer to support our client's Information Systems team, focusing on digital solutions in public health, food safety, and the internal market.
The role involves developing, maintaining, and optimizing core applications and systems supporting health, food safety, and regulatory initiatives across Europe.
You will be instrumental in creating secure, scalable, and high-performing back-end applications aligned with our mission to protect human health, animal welfare, and food safety.
YOUR TASKS:
Develop back-end web applications, implementing core business logic.Design and optimize applications for speed and scalability.Develop APIs for system integration.Implement security and data protection measures.Design scalable software solutions.Write clean, maintainable code.Troubleshoot issues and improve systems.Create technical documentation.YOUR SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
7+ years in back-end development with Java (JDK8+), JEE (7+), XML, and SOAP web services.Proficiency in Oracle RDBMS.At least 5 years experience with Git or SVN, and Atlassian tools (Jira, Confluence, Bamboo).Strong understanding of web development cycles and security.Excellent organizational and communication skills in an international environment.ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:
