CEO Pete Dowd's Story A few years ago, Pete's family faced challenges finding the right care for his grandmother, Frances.
When Frances needed extra help, they initially looked after her themselves.
Arranging for carers was difficult, and it was hard to know how much time they spent with her.
Ultimately, Pete's family decided that moving Frances into a care home was the safest option.
Pete was struck by how, at the time, this seemed like the only choice.
He wondered why care homes had become the standard, especially since around 6.5 million people in the UK care for loved ones themselves, often under emotional and financial strain.
