As a Data Center Facility Engineer, you will be responsible for the design, installation, operation and maintenance of the data center infrastructure that supports Generali's IT services.
You will ensure the reliability, availability and security of the data center facilities, cabling, racks and environmental monitoring; you will collaborate with the building Facility team which are directly responsible for the availability and reliability of power, cooling, fire protection, and facility infrastructure management.
You will also coordinate with external vendors, contractors and service providers to deliver high-quality data center solutions.
Your main tasks and responsibilities will include:
Designing and implementing data center facility projects according to the business requirements and best practicesPerforming regular inspections, audits and preventive maintenance of the data center IT facilities and IT equipmentJoin the Building Facility team in performing the regular audits and inspections to make sure preventive and corrective maintenance on building facilities and equipment are properly performedTroubleshooting and resolving any data center facility issues or incidents in a timely and efficient mannerMonitoring and optimizing the data center facility performance and efficiency, using data and metricsDeveloping and updating data center facility documentation, procedures and standardsEnsuring compliance with the data center facility policies, regulations and certificationsProviding technical support and guidance to the data center operations team and other stakeholdersRequirementsOur ideal candidate will meet the following requirements:
A bachelor's degree in engineering, computer science, or a related fieldAt least 3 years of experience in data center facility engineering or managementSolid knowledge of data center facility design principles, standards and best practices, such as TIA-942, Uptime Institute, etc...Proficient in data center IT systems and technologiesFamiliar with data center facility management tools and software, such as DCIM, BMS, CMDB, etc...Excellent problem-solving, analytical and troubleshooting skillsGood communication, collaboration and project management skillsAbility to work under pressure and handle multiple tasks and prioritiesAvailability to work on-call and perform occasional off-hours and weekend workFluency in English and ItalianAvailability to travel internationally (Europe), at most 20% of the timeCompany ProfileGenerali is a major player in the global insurance industry – a strategic and highly important sector for the growth, development and welfare of modern societies.
