Role Overview As a Maintenance Mechanic , you will utilize your expertise in General Maintenance, Hydraulic Systems, Electrical & Electronic Systems, and basic welding to ensure smooth operations.
Whether working independently or as part of a team, you will play a key role in maintaining efficient and safe plant operations.

You will follow all safety protocols, including LOCKOUT / TAGOUT procedures and adhere to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) , contributing to a safe, compliant, and high-performance environment.
Your skills and attention to detail are vital to the team's and plant's success.
Key Responsibilities Equipment Maintenance & Repairs : Complete preventive maintenance tasks, maintain machinery, diagnose issues, repair or replace faulty parts, and ensure machinery operates optimally.Team Support : Assist production and quality teams with troubleshooting and repairs, supporting overall plant efficiency.Safety Compliance : Follow safety protocols, including LOCKOUT / TAGOUT and GMPs, to maintain a safe working environment.Facility Maintenance : Support the repair and upkeep of the plant's physical structure, ensuring a clean and organized environment.Qualifications High school diploma or GED, with 1+ years of experience in industrial maintenance or 4+ years of relevant experience.Vocational, Technical, or Associate Degree preferred.Ability to work effectively in a team and with contractors.Ability to operate forklifts, genie lifts, or scissor lifts.Ability to follow instructions, read work orders, and interpret manuals.EEO Statement : Smithfield is an equal opportunity employer committed to diversity.
