Senior Associate, Business Development, China Shanghai, China Role Description The Senior Associate, Business Development will be responsible for selling FTSE Russell indices, data and analytics primarily to banks and academic clients in mainland China and maintaining the existing China contract records. This role will be based in Shanghai and report to the sales lead in China. The candidate will be expected to have existing relationships within the banking industry in China and be committed to developing new business opportunities mainly with banking-sector and academic clients. Prior experience of 3 years in sales/business development roles is required and knowledge on index products (especially Fixed Income Indexes and Analytics) is preferable. Key Responsibilities Working within the diverse APAC Sales Team and reporting to the sales lead in China, the individual will be responsible for new business development and relationship management for the assigned FTSE Russell sales territory and client base - primarily the banking-sector and academic clients in China. The individual is also expected to fulfill the responsibilities for maintaining the existing client contract records. New business sales and account management focusing on banking-sector and academic clients in China Assist Senior Sales to manage existing customer relationships and maintain existing contract record management Assist Senior Sales to develop business plans to drive revenues across client base Work towards managing own pipeline Deliver revenue goals through meticulous account planning, plan implementation and plan management Regularly report on quantitative and qualitative results of account planning and plan implementation using company adopted methods Develop and display deep knowledge and understanding of FTSE Russell products, packaging and pricing with a focus on Fixed Income Indices and Analytics Systems, and of FTSE Russell competition in the local market Maintain records of interactions with prospects and accounts, as well as accurate pipeline of sales opportunities in FTSE Russell’s Customer Relationship Management system Actively support FTSE Russell marketing efforts as it relates to new product announcements and existing product upgrades Proactively communicate enhancements to products and services, and cross-sell new offerings for future sales Candidate Profile / Key Skills Minimum 3 years sales and account management experiences in selling financial information services (index selling experience preferred) to banks in China. Prior sales experience in financial services sector with proven track record Excellent knowledge of, and experience in, the financial markets Excellent verbal and written communications abilities in English and Mandarin Self motivating and resilient Commercially focused. Have the ability to assist FTSE Russell clients in growing their business using FTSE Russell products and services Ability to close the sale and secure commercial contract agreements in a timely manner Interpersonal and Presentation Skills Adept at operating independently and as part of a team Collaborative in following and supporting the goals set by FTSE Russell management Excellent knowledge of Fixed Income preferred People are at the heart of what we do and drive the success of our business.
