Minimum 1+ years special education experience required. Full-Time Special Education Teacher Opportunity for the 2024-2025 School Year in Geona, Illinois! Key Responsibilities: Provide specialized instruction and support to students with disabilities in self-contained classrooms across elementary, middle, and high school grade levels. Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) that address students' unique learning needs, strengths, and goals. Differentiate instruction and adapt curriculum materials to meet the diverse learning needs and abilities of students with disabilities. Utilize evidence-based instructional strategies, assistive technologies, and behavior management techniques to support student learning and promote skill development. Collaborate with general education teachers, related service providers, and support staff to ensure the successful inclusion and participation of students with disabilities in the general education curriculum and school community. Monitor student progress and assess learning outcomes using a variety of assessment tools and strategies, and use data to inform instructional decisions and interventions. Communicate regularly with parents/guardians to provide updates on student progress, solicit feedback, and collaborate on strategies to support student success. Participate in professional development opportunities and engage in ongoing collaboration with colleagues to enhance knowledge and skills in special education best practices. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Special Education or related field (Master's degree preferred). Valid teaching license in Special Education (Illinois certification required). Prior experience working with students with disabilities in a school or educational setting. Strong understanding of special education laws, regulations, and best practices in instruction, assessment, and behavior management. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, families, and colleagues.
