Job Description

This position supports the management of the Talent & Culture Department of the property and pertains to all areas which support the Fairmont philosophy of creating an environment where each and every colleague is recognized and feels valued for their contributions.
This role will support leaders and colleagues in all elements of the Talent Journey including: Employer Branding, Talent Selection, Induction & Onboarding, Performance Management & Feedback, Colleague Engagement, Learning & Development, Talent Management, Career Management, Diversity, Equity & Inclusion, Policies & Procedures, Recognition, Compensation & Benefits, Health & Wellness, and Corporate Social Responsibility with the objective of providing business support to all departments through collaboration and coaching.
Primary Responsibilities include but not limited to: Manage the day-to-day operations of the Talent & Culture DepartmentLead and provide support to the Talent & Culture team membersConsistently offer professional, friendly and engaging serviceBe a role model within the hotel and exhibit and practice professional leadership skills, which are fully aligned with our culture, values and pillarsPromote positive Colleague relations through an environment that encourages open communication, trust, mutual respect, and funThe ability to organize, attend and participate in management ofemployee functionsAssist the Director of Talent & Culture in assessing organizational needs, developing aligned Talent & Culture solutions and implement strategies in the areas of employee relations, compensation and benefits, recognition, administration and Colleague wellnessMaintain relationships with local schools, colleagues and universitiesEngage in Talent & Culture social media initiatives to promote the property as the best place to workCompile entries for local HR and Employer recognition awardsManage and oversee the recruitment processImplement retention strategies to fulfill business need objectivesFollow and Implement all Company established onboarding procedures which ensure new colleagues feel welcome and all team members are prepared for colleague arrivalCoordinate and conduct Company and brand specific orientation programs and other training programsSupport an environment which promotes open ongoing feedback and coaching to bridge gaps for better performanceAssist Departmental Leaders with the development of specific action plans to address issues and concerns identified in Colleague feedbackCelebrate team and individual successAssist Managers in setting objectives and goals for supervisor and assistant managersProvide training and support to all colleagues and leadersEvaluate the effectiveness of the training by communication with department supervisors and front-line talentSupport colleagues to access learning opportunitiesAssist leaders to identify best star talentAssist leaders in the preparation of succession plansSupport the implementation of Talent & Culture strategiesProvideadvice on employment legislation and developments in labor laws, Employment Standards and Human Rights in California.Communicate Talent & Culture policies and procedures to all leaders and colleaguesPromote work-lifebalance to achieve a healthy workforce in each departmentSupport the motivation of talent through recognition, rewards program, and regular activities through the hotelImplement programs and plan events to recognize key events in the lives of our colleagues including birthdays, years of service, births, etc.Oversee Benefits and Wellness programs including health benefitbilling processesProvide support to colleagues who have undergone any crisis situation or traumaSupport a safe working environment by ensuring local regulations and Accor safety standards are upheld for workplace health and safetyEnsure employee final pay is accurate, timely, and in keeping with legislative requirementsComplete exit interviews with departing colleaguesAdvance positive employee relations by building effective working relationships with all constituentsProvideassistance and support with employee relations issuesProvide support in Colleague coaching and counselingConduct disciplinary meetings when requiredProcess and maintain confidential information and properly document information for payroll purposesProvide assistance relatedto employee relations such as direct line committee organization, employee communication, bulletin boards, employee of the month program, employee picnics, parties and general meetingsFollow and enforce policies and proceduresFollow all safety policiesParticipate in the departmental financial budgeting and month-end processesAssist the team in performing administrative duties within the departmentPerformother duties as assigned Qualifications

3-5 years of Human Resources leadership experiencePrior hospitality experience is desirablePrevious experience in unionized environment requiredStrong knowledge of federal, state, and local law requiredReading, writing, and oral proficiency in English & Spanish requiredPrevious experience in Learning & Development a strong assetStrong knowledge in handling requests for leave of absence and worker's compensationComputer literate in Microsoft Office applicationsUniversity/College degree in a related discipline preferredHR certification an assetStrong organizational and leadership skillsHighly responsible & reliable with strong sense of urgencyResourceful and ability to work cohesively as part of a team Additional Information
