Job Summary/Description
Teach online graduate courses, some of which relate to research methods and analysis for master's and doctoral students. Advise doctoral students as they plan and implement research studies for dissertation requirements. Participate as methodologist and/or chair on dissertation committees. Participate in the ongoing planning, development, implementation, and assessment of the Ed.D. in Transformative Leadership program. Design graduate-level courses related to research methods and other C&I program courses. Participate fully in college and department activities, including research and service requirements in alignment with institution, college, and department tenure and evaluation criteria. This is an 11-month appointment.
Typical Duties/Job Duties
Responsibilities include teaching graduate courses online and using technology strategies for distance delivery in the transformative leadership doctoral program and other master's programs in the department.Develop relevant coursework, engage learners in substantive interaction, and provide timely and learner-focused feedback to students on course workParticipate in faculty governance and service activities, including serving on department, college, and university committees.Support program and college recruitment, enrollment, and retention efforts.Maintain a record of scholarly activities, including presentations, publications, grant activity, and other research. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Expertise in qualitative, quantitative, and/or mixed methods research designExpertise in statistical software programs and practices and/or qualitative research technologies.Expertise in other academic program areas in the Department of Curriculum & Instruction (counseling/mental health, educational leadership, etc.)Ability to work collaboratively and effectively with students and colleagues.Knowledge of online course development and teaching.Excellent written and oral communication skills.Knowledge of doctoral support strategies and dissertation processes. Minimum Qualifications Earned doctorate from an accredited university with research experience and an emphasis in educational psychology, educational research, methods and/or related degrees. Candidates at the assistant professor level must have an earned doctorate at the time of hire.
