The School of Humanities and Sciences (H&S) is the foundation of a liberal arts education at Stanford. The school encompasses 23 departments and 25 interdisciplinary programs. CCSRE is an interdisciplinary program that provides policy, financial resources, and administrative support to the undergraduate ethnic- specific programs of Chicana/o-Latina/o Studies, Asian American Studies, Native American Studies, and Jewish Studies.Chicana/o-Latina/o Studies offers courses, community engaged learning experiences, and other undergraduate opportunities that offer a well-rounded interdisciplinary curriculum for its majors and minors. 
Chicana/o-Latina/o Studies Program Description Established in 1997, the Chicana/o-Latina/o Studies (CHILATST)major and minor has offered students interdisciplinary analytical tools for the study and research of Chicanx-Latinx experiences. CHILATST classes critically analyze and cover a broad selection of topics and are offered in departments and schools including Anthropology, Art and Art History, History, Sociology, English, Comparative Literature, and Education, representing the breadth of interests among our diverse faculty members. These classes provide an interdisciplinary approach to understanding the historical and contemporary experiences of US-based descendants of Latin America and the Caribbean. Our faculty recognize that the Program focuses on a rapidly developing, complex, and heterogeneous population, and that there is neither a singular Chicanx-Latinx identity nor a homogeneous community that comprises all such people.
Chicana/o & Latina/oAssociate Director Position Summary
The Associate Director (AD) for CHILATST will help to build student community within the major and minor, foster student engagement with its intellectual concerns, forge connections with scholars across the University as well as nationally and internationally, and build relationships with members of the community, including alumni. The AD's time will be focused in several areas: approximately 65% spent teaching (4 courses per academic year); 20% devoted to program development; and 15% to academic administration, student advising, and general administration. 
This is a 100% FTE, 12-month, 3-year fixed term exempt staff position that reports directly to the Executive Director of CCSRE. This position will be based on the Stanford campus and will be considered for an option of telecommuting (hybrid of working on-site and off-site), subject to operational need.

Oversee and administer research activities by evaluating academic programs, making recommendations that impact policies and programs, and coordinating and implementing changes.Collect and analyze data, create reports, review and explain trends to determine program effectiveness; formulate and evaluate alternative solutions and/or recommendations to achieve the goals of the program.Teach and/or assist in the teaching and administration of courses. Create and/or advise in the development of curriculum. Make recommendations for course improvements.Write and edit content for proposals, peer-reviewed publications, and other program activities under the general direction of PI. Assist with the development of research grants, (i.e., may suggest new funding opportunities, write portions of grants, and/or summarize data for grant support).Represent the program or function as the key contact and subject matter expert within the department, unit or school and develop communications for internal and external constituencies. Organize and/or participate in outreach activities such as events, partnerships, fundraising, training, and conferences. Lead workshops and facilitate meetings.Monitor expenses, budgets, and finances of the program. Make recommendations on funding based on program spend.May oversee and train student workers.* Other duties may also be assigned.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor's degree and two years of relevant experience or combination of education, training, and relevant experience. An M.A. or Ph.D, or equivalent in a Humanities, Social Science, Law, Ethnic Studies, or related discipline with significant focus on Chicanx and Latinx experiences highly preferred.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
Demonstrated oral, written, and analytical skills, exhibiting fluency in area of specialization.Ability to oversee and provide basic direction to staff.In addition, preferred requirements include:
An M.A. (required), Ph.D. (preferred), or equivalent in a Humanities, Social Science, Law, Ethnic Studies, or related discipline with significant focus on Chicanx and Latinx experiences. Commitment and ability to foster appreciation and understanding of CHILATST through strategic planning, academic programming, teaching, committee work, and community building.Demonstrated capacity to produce and evaluate interdisciplinary research, as evidenced by professional publications or equivalent achievements.Two to five years of teaching experience, with significant focus in Chicana/o-Latina/o Studies. Substantial programmatic experience, including involvement in planning lectures, student events, and serving on faculty committees.Proven success as a team participant (with a wide range of people including faculty, administrative staff, and students) as well as demonstrated leadership ability with excellent communication and organizational skills.Strong public relations skills, including skill with public speaking, media relations, event planning, and the design of publicity and other collateral materials.Familiarity with university requirements, fellowship opportunities, and academic resources is extremely valuable.Experience with donor cultivation is valuable.The expected pay range for this position is $ 68,000 to $99,000 per annum.
