The goal of the Business Ministries Specialist is to run a profitable and sustainable kingdom business with the purpose of impacting people and nations economically and spiritually. These businesses are key to reaching some of the world's least evangelized people but can be used more broadly to support or underwrite national ministries. The Business Ministries team will support the efforts of the One Mission Society ministry framework of multiplying disciples, churches, leaders and global workers.
This role is available in Asia/Oceania, Colombia, Ecuador, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Mexico, Spain, and it other countries throughout the Asia/Pacific region. Education and Experience Requirements Bachelor's degree in business or equivalent experience . D egree or education in missions, ministry, or B ible a plus . Experience in owning or running a business is strongly preferred. Experience in the specific Business as Mission ( BAM ) business intended is strongly preferred. Understanding of BAM best practices through reading, study , and research. Ability to gain a functional level of the national l anguage. Skill Requirements S piritually and emotionally mature. Able to feed oneself spiritually through personal Bible study, prayer , and fellowship with other believers. S killed and able to build relationships of trust with multiple potential partners . Ability to coach and mentor potential/rising entrepreneurs . A strong and effective communicator through speaking and writing . A clear biblical worldview that includes and embraces God's design for business. Awareness of cross-cultural situations and an a bility to relate graciously to people of many cultures in a manner that engenders respect and trust . A clear call to the position demonstrated by spiritual gifts, training, experience, and passion . A servant heart that is teachable, flexible , and willing to learn. A willingness to learn and understand local customs and practices. U nquestionable integrity, a critical thinker who demonstrates the fruit of the Spirit; courageous, authentic, vulnerable, humble, deeply grounded in the Word of God. Entrepreneurial – Most BAM enterprises require an entrepreneurial self-motivated personality and accompanying skillset. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Run the business in a legal and responsible way that glorifies God, exemplifying Christian character and ethics throughout . The business may be used directly for ministry or outreach or be used to generate income for local ministries depending on the situation. Make oneself available to develop and teach classes on Kingdom entrepreneurship to ministry students and church leaders in partnership with OMS-related seminaries, churches , and church planters. The Business Ministries Specialist will support the larger goals of OMS , assist as able in ministry events / meetings , and be a team player, embodying the team values. Weave the compassion of Christ into all tasks. This is a support based position that involves raising financial support through ministry partners for salary and other expenses. About Us
