Number of positions: 5 Department: 129-A&S Office for Undergraduate Students Contact Name: Kate Szumanski Contact Phone/Extension: 610-519-3942 Position Summary Information Job Description Summary: The Office for Undergraduate Students ( OUS ) in the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences provides academic, career and professional development, retention, and student support services to all liberal arts and sciences undergraduate students. Currently, we seek to bring onboard to our team part-time Undergraduate Peer Career Coaches, who will provide career and professional development support to their fellow students.
Students will be trained to work individually and in small group settings with students to provide individual résumé and other professional correspondence reviews; help students to understand why networking and mentorship matter; attend virtual and in-person student career and professional development events, and often help to plan and organize them; promote CLAS professional development services; and complete other related tasks as assigned. Requirements: Undergraduate student standing.Must be genuinely interested providing student career and professional development support to peers.Must be dedicated, dependable, reliable, willing to learn, flexible and adaptable, and attentive to detail.Must be able to work equally well collaboratively and independently.Must be available to participate in ongoing training sessions.Must be able to devote five hours each week to position.
