The Continuous Improvement Leader is a key role within our organization, responsible for leading and championing a culture of continuous improvement and operational excellence. This role will play a pivotal part in driving efficiency, effectiveness and quality across ELSEs ( Electrification Services) Supply Chain and Manufacturing footprint. This role continuously explores opportunities to improve processes and increase value add to the business, develop risk knowledge/expertise as necessary to engage/advise in project and business decisions. This position reports to Manufacturing Unit Manager Your responsibilities Strategic Planning: Develop and execute the organizationâ€s operational excellence strategy, aligning it with the companyâ€s objectives and goals Process Improvement: Identify opportunities for process optimization, waste reduction and efficiency enhancements across various front end functions within the organization Change Management: Lead and support change initiatives, ensuring that employees at all levels are engaged and aligned with operational excellence goals Cross Functional Collaboration: Collaborate with department heads and teams to implement operational excellence practices and foster a culture of collaboration and innovation Reporting and Analysis: Prepare regular reports and analyses on operational performance, presenting findings to senior management Quality Assurance: Implement quality control processes to maintain and enhance service quality Manage the portfolio of business improvement projects and ensure benefits delivery and execution of these projects with desired quality, on time, and within budget Drives best practice sharing, cross function collaboration and reuse of processes, tools and expert knowledge throughout the business Cost Reduction: Identify cost saving opportunities while maintaining or improving service and product quality Risk Management: Identify operational risks and develop strategies to mitigate them Training and Development: Design and deliver training programs to equip employees with the tools and methodologies necessary for continuous improvement Train and coach others in the understanding and practice of Lean Manufacturing Lead and Implement process changes Lead Kaizen events Identify and deliver cost savings through process improvements Evaluate process changes and make necessary modifications as the new process evolves Verify that new and modified processes are accurately documented Partnering with business leaders to identify goals and improvement needs to define a best course of action Working with business leaders to identify and access the best resources with which to work Serving as a resource for continuous improvement efforts act as team lead to execute improvement projects Provide visibility over the current portfolio of continuous improvement efforts and tracking KPIs (Key Performance Indicators?) and value from these efforts to help allocate resources and recognize success of these projects Promoting behavioral change to continuously improve performance Your background Masters degree (preferred) or Bachelors degree in business, operations management, or a related field with proven experience in operational excellence, process improvement or related roles with a minimum of 5 years experience in leadership positions Strong knowledge of operational excellence methodologies, such as Lean, Six Sigma and Total Quality Management Knowledge and ability to implement basic Lean/Flex Flow concepts: 5S, Standard Work, One Piece Flow, Kanban, Poka Yoke, Value Added activity and the seven forms of waste Willingness to travel occasionally as per business needs 20 percent maximum Excellent problem solving and analytical skills Effective communication and change management skills Project management experience Leadership experience, either as a line manager or working with management and strategy Hands on approach, a solid understanding of different functions within a business to provide a holistic view to stakeholders A collaborative, solution focused approach and strong written and spoken communication skills Ability to work independently and manage multiple demands on your time Candidates must already have a work authorization that would permit them to work for ABB in the US Benefits Retirement plan Life insurance Disability insurance Wellbeing program Healthcare plan More about us Electrifying the world in a safe, smart and sustainable way, ABB Electrification is a global technology leader in electrical distribution and management from source to socket.
