We are looking for an experienced Data Scientist, with a good data engineering background to join our Data Science team.
The purpose of this role is to discover insights hidden in the vast amounts of JATO automotive data, helping making smarter decisions. In this role, you will produce new and creative analytic solutions by applying data mining techniques, conducting statistical analysis, and building high quality prediction systems.
You will also support the team in the integration of multiple data sources related to sales volumes, pricing, product analysis, etc, which JATO has available on the cloud.
Key Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities - Work end-to-end in the development of advanced data analyses and models, by gathering and interpreting the requirements, extracting and processing the data, conducting the analyses and modelling, and assisting in the development of the final solution.
- Autonomously find solutions to data science problems with potentially non-trivial solutions or challenges with the data.
- Extract and query volumes of data from structured, unstructured and semi-structured databases in the cloud.
- Mentor other members of the data science team, supporting them on working with the cloud solutions.
- Work closely with colleagues in Operations, Architecture, Delivery, Product, Support, and Engineering to provide solutions on the JATO service platform.
- Deployment and monitoring of the developed solutions.
- Communicate effectively with stakeholders, both when capturing the problem and when presenting results.
- Successfully work within the Data Science team to share best practices, expertise, knowledge, and enthusiasm.
- Stay up to date with technology trends.
Key Requirements
Key Requirements - Degree in data science, applied statistics, machine learning, computer science or relevant field.
- Professional experience working on a data science or related discipline team.
- Experience with LLMs.
- Experience with deployment of data science solutions
- Experience with applied statistics and quantitative modeling (e.g. regression models, time series forecasting, statistical tests, machine learning models).
- Independent proficiency in the data science process including data cleansing, data validation, data modeling, model evaluation, visualization of insights.
- Proficiency using Python/R.
- Proactive and problem-solving mindset working independently to deliver value.
- Fluent in English.
Preferred
- Experience in storing and extracting data in Azure.
- Experience with the Databricks environment.
