Dettagli della offerta

DESTINY: A new doctoral network for the training of new bioeconomy specialists DESTINY is a doctoral network funded by the European Commission through the Marie Sklodowska-Curie Actions. The aim of the project is the training of young researchers in the design and sustainability assessment of innovative biomass production systems and value chains in the bioeconomy. DESTINY is coordinated by AgroParisTech, a French higher education institution, known as grande école, member of the Paris-Saclay University. It has been developed in the framework of the European Bioeconomy University Alliance with six other partner universities. Among them is the University of Bologna (Italy), a member of European Bioplastics , which acts as an advisor to the project.
The promotion of the bioeconomy is at the forefront of the European political agenda to address pressing societal issues such as climate change and limited resources. The green transition is expected to increase the demand for biomass from forestry and agriculture. There are growing concerns about potential negative impacts on biodiversity, greenhouse gas emissions and water resources. It is therefore crucial to ensure that the bioeconomy goes hand in hand with sustainability. It is in this context that DESTINY was born out of the need to train a new generation of professionals in the bioeconomy. The doctoral students recruited will design sustainable bioeconomy systems for Europe. They will do so by taking into account several disciplines, ranging from agronomy to economics, and from political to social sciences.
The project DESTINY recently kicked off in Paris: DESTINY aims at recruiting 15 doctoral candidates for a period of 36 months, with a full-time employment within the PhD programme. The vacancies to be filled for the doctoral positions are advertised on the project website
DESTINY is funded by the European Union under Grant Agreement Nr. ********
