City of New York ENROLLMENT SPECIALIST New York , New York Apply Now The Fair Fares program is a Mayoral initiative designed to provide accessible discounted MetroCards for subways and local bus service to low-income families who are in receipt of Cash Assistance, Supplemental Nutritional Assistance Program as well as New York City residents who are living at or below the federal poverty level. Working under direction of the Enrollment Specialist Supervisor for Fair Fares, the Enrollment Specialist will be responsible for the enrollment of consumers at walk-in locations throughout the city. He/she will meet with the consumers, review all necessary documents, access database, and gather all necessary information from the consumer while completing the enrollment and application process. Enrollment will also include scanning all documents into the database.As the Enrollment Specialist the position will be dealing with highly sensitive documents, confidentiality and discretion is important to the role. In this role the enrollment specialist will be responsible for answering questions and providing information about the benefits and requirements for the program; review consumers' documents for completeness; navigate the enrollment database; maintain equipment; and finalize consumers' complete Fair Fare enrollment packages.The Fair Fares program is seeking seven (7) Community Associates to function as Enrollment Specialists who will:Verify and enroll participant referrals daily: Walk-In, electronically and/or telephonically; reviewconsumer's documents for completeness; ensure Fair Fares consumers have all necessarypaperwork and documentation required to complete the Fair Fares enrollment process; originaldocumentation required to complete the Fair Fares enrollment process; original documentationwill be reviewed and authenticated as "official" documentation while maintaining the highest levelof confidentiality and discretion; require to undergo mandatory specialized training in how to reviewand authenticate official documentation.Review FF database throughout the day and ensure all program consents are signed; navigate theenrollment database; scan all authenticated official documents into the database; data enter alldemographic and relevant consumer information necessary to process the completed application;ensure that all information is entered accurately.Finalize and submit the consumers complete Fair Fare application; review to ensure that allnecessary documents and/or other relevant information are obtained from the consumer; notifyconsumers of required, missing documentation, and direct those consumers to return themissing information according to program procedure; inform consumers of how to obtain officialdocuments from local, state and/or information for submission of complete applications; respondto consumer questions and concerns in a timely manner.Coordinate communication around site-specific issues under direction from his or her supervisor;responsible for creating, organizing, scheduling, and presenting information to communityaudiences via public speaking (conducting information sessions and setting up information tables),flyers, brochures, and other relevant mediums.
