About the Role For our Supply Chain team based in Alba (CN), we are currently looking for European Central Transport Planners.
Main Responsibilities In this role you will organize shipments and transports by refrigerated (or tilt) vehicles of finished, intermediates, semi-finished products, raw materials, packaging, etc. from plant co-packers and external warehouses to European customers, warehouses, and factories.
You will develop a weekly shipping plan by analyzing the requirements received from markets/plants, the stock in the industrial network and production plans to ensure an adequate level of service. You will assign trips to transportation companies based on share logic defined by Central Procurement and interface with internal/external customers to guarantee the resolution of any critical issue.
Concerning the transportation plan, you will execute and monitor it through proper selection of carriers proposed by Central Procurement, making sure that the vehicles arrive and are loaded on time.
With reference to Logistics KPIs (vehicle saturation, idle time, punctuality loading/unloading, transit time, quality, etc.), you will ensure the correct stock level and the best service level, guaranteeing the cost-effectiveness of transportation through timely controls and monitoring of the contracting and vehicle saturation. You will verify actual shares vs what has been agreed with Procurement SC.
By covering this position, you will communicate with internal and external offices and a variety of stakeholders: transportation service providers, Central Procurement, warehouses, markets, receiving plants, planning dept., materials management, quality, etc.
Last but not least, you will identify and propose improvement solutions for the optimization of management processes within the function, participating in Company projects on logistics/transportation issues ensuring oversight of cost, service quality and sustainability, promoting the development of green logistics through the activation of intermodal or low-polluting fuel carriers.
You will also participate proactively in the improvement of information systems, proposing innovative ideas!
Who we are looking for You will bring your Degree in Engineering and your enthusiasm to join this fascinating function, developed during your studies or in your recent experience.
Your fluent English will be a key asset for us, as you will constantly interact with colleagues and external stakeholders from different countries.
