JOB SUMMARY:Under the direction of the Deputy Town Manager, Florence's next Finance Director will takeResponsibility for all aspects of Finance, Utilities, Procurement, Community Facilities, and SpecialDistricts. The position serves as the chief financial officer, investment officer, public fundsCustodian, and debt manager. The Finance Director provides overall administrative and technicalDirection in accounting, purchasing, treasury, payroll, and budget control. The Finance DirectorAlso serves as the appeals officer for utility billing complaints.Candidates should be well-versed in State and Federal payroll laws, treasury, grant funding, publicDebt management, Governmental Accounting Standards Boards (GASB)and Government FinanceOfficers Association Standards, best practices, policies, rules, and regulatory reportingRequirements, as well as Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and GenerallyAccepted Auditing Standards (GAAS) for public sector financial management.
