To strengthen our rapidly growing biogas team in Italy we are looking for an experienced Head of Development to lead our biomethane development company in Italy. This role is pivotal in driving growth, managing M&A activities, leading strategic planning and representing the company towards investors.
Key Responsibilities Strategic Leadership : Lead a small team of internal and external biogas specialists, ensuring that objectives are met as well as represent the company towards its investors. Market Analysis and Strategy Development: Analysing funding options, local and national laws,regulations, policies, competitors, and the overall biomethane market context. M&A Initiatives : Identify, structure, and execute M&A projects. Stakeholder Engagement : Build and maintain relationships across the value chain, including negotiations and agreements with sector companies, suppliers, technologists and investors. Financial acumen : Prepare commercial proposals, negotiate contracts and report progress. Execute advanced financial modelling to evaluate and forecast project outcomes, investment viability, and budgetary implications. Active Industry Engagement: Participation in industry events. Requirements +10 years of experience in waste management, biogas, oil & gas, or renewable energy( PV and BESS). Experience in M&A, and project management is highly desirable. Degree in Industrial, Agricultural, Chemical Engineering, Energy, or related field. Postgraduate in business administration or finance is a plus. Understanding of the energy sector, ideally in biogas, and energy regulatory context in Italy. Strong leadership, team management, strong sense of negotiation and communication skills. Self-motivated, autonomous, ability to motivate others and work collaboratively with multiple internal and external stakeholders. Proficient in market analysis, strategy development, and business planning. In-depth knowledge of MS Office. Availability to travel throughout Italy to personally negotiate with biogas plant owners, as needed. Fluent in Italian and in English.
