WHAT YOU'LL BE DOINGWrite and review clear, engaging assessment items to address specified educational objectives in grades K-12Review and edit assessment items and collaborate with our team of writers, editors, and illustrators to ensure content is clear, accurate, and age-appropriateWrite achievement level descriptors and other assessment documentationCollaborate with curriculum designers, psychometricians, program managers, and company leaders to determine assessment scope and approachDevelop and manage project plans to create and deliver high-quality assessment itemsResearch and analyze content requirements, including state educational standardsAssist with other ELA curriculum design projects as assigned, such as creating and reviewing standards alignments and writing and reviewing ELA content for IXL's learning activitiesWHAT WE'RE LOOKING FORBachelor's, Master's, or PhD in Education, English, Linguistics, or a related field2+ years' experience writing items for widely-used assessmentsK-12 ELA teaching or tutoring experienceOutstanding written and spoken communication skills, including the ability to communicate clearly and concisely with a wide range of age groupsAbility to think strategically and creatively solve problemsCan-do attitude with an openness to others' ideas and a strong attention to detailAbility to quickly learn new guidelines and software; familiarity with HTML, Jira, or Git is a plusExperience in curriculum development and instructional design is a plusWHAT TO INCLUDE IN YOUR APPLICATIONYour resumeA cover letter under 600 words that addresses the following questions: What are some challenges in developing online English Language Arts assessments for K-12 students?
