Program Coordinator Assistant, Asian Pacific Islander Student Resource Center Job Title: Program Coordinator Assistant  Hourly Rate:$17.00 per hour; non-exempt classification  Duration: Academic Year (Fall/Spring) with the possibility of extension  Work Schedule: Up to 15 hours/week (10 hours/week during semester breaks) (no more than 999 hours per calendar year.) Schedule developed with the Program Coordinators  Training Period: Two months with the possibility of extension  General Statement:  Under the general supervision of the Cross Cultural Center coordinators, the Program Coordinator Assistantprovides varied programmatic and clerical support to the University-Student Union (U-SU), Cross Cultural Center (CCC). The Program Coordinator Assistant is responsible for supporting the team in planning, executing, and evaluating CCC programs and events addressing issues of oppression, marginalization, and differences. The Program Coordinator Assistant coordinates the services in one of the Student Resource Centers (Asian Pacific Islander, Chicana/o Latina/o, Pan African, and Gender & Sexuality) focusing on issues of importance to the community. General Duties and Responsibilities:  Assists with the development and implementation of culturally focused and cross cultural relevant programs and events; Works with a team to ensure a safe and friendly environment within the Student Resource Centers; Schedules various meetings with volunteers and members of the university community; Attends and participates in scheduled CCC Staff meetings, one-on-one meetings with supervisors, and U-SU training sessions; Assists with projects and events, and may assist staff with leading Center Aides on projects; Performs other duties as assigned.  Required Qualifications:  Currently enrolled Cal State LA student with a minimum of 6 units undergraduate units and a minimum G.P.A. of 2.0, or graduate student with at least 4 graduate units and a minimum Cal State LA cumulative G.P.A. of 3.0; Willingness to work with an ethnically diverse and culturally pluralistic student body and staff; Willingness to work in an environment emphasizing knowledge and values related to cross cultural communication and interactions; Ability to interact positively and build effective working relationships; Strong organizational skills: the ability to prioritize, complete assigned duties, and varied tasks; Strong interpersonal and intercultural communication skills in a team environment; Must be self-motivated, able to adjust to changing workloads, and have some independent judgment; Willingness to provide effective customer service promptly and courteously; Proficient oral, written, and listening skills; Ability to respond to walk-ins and other inquiries; Experience using various desktop and web-based applications, and office equipment; Knowledgeable of the concerns, pressures, and inequities of women, BIPOC (Black, Indigenous, People of Color), sexual orientation, gender identity, and gender expression; Previous customer service experience preferred.  The person holding this position is considered a mandated reporter under the California Child Abuse and Neglect Reporting Act and is required to comply with the requirements set forth in CSU Executive Order 1083 as a condition of employment.  #J-18808-Ljbffr
