Within our "External Relations & Sustainability" department, we are currently looking for a Public Affairs Manager for the Belgian market, with a significant focus on energy efficiency, environmental issues and good indoor climate of buildings.
In this position, you will be responsible for ensuring a positive business environment for VELUX, as well as the credibility of VELUX for various stakeholders (politicians, administrations, press, NGOs, interest groups, etc.).
 

This entails the following tasks:
Developing and executing, at the federal and regional level, a public affairs strategy focusing on issues most critical to our business
Managing stakeholders, including building and maintaining good relations to relevant stakeholders, and attend relevant meetings and conferences representing the VELUX views on selected topics.
Monitoring national and regional policy processes and stakeholders regarding selected dossiers and policy areas.
Preparing position papers, presentations and the like, explaining the VELUX position
Ensuring the follow up of standards and technical requirements impacting our products, including liaising with interest groups and relevant institutions (Agoria, Embuild, Buildwise, …)
Cooperating with media colleagues to support the agenda on sustainability, as well as on healthy and energy-efficient buildings via media, including social media
Advising Management
Cooperating in projects building the brand perception and company reputation among stakeholder groups, including research projects.
This position will be located in our Belgian offices (Wavre & Brussels) with occasional traveling within Europe.
What do you need to be effective in this this role? You have an advanced understanding of Belgian institutions both at the federal and regional levels;
You are able to establish and nurture networks within the sustainability and the building sectors, and have an existing network in one or several of the following sectors : buildings, energy, environmental transition;
You have great analytical and anticipation skills, while being to adapt rapidly to changing situations;
Technical matters do not scare you. You are able to acquaint yourself with technical dossiers that are of regulatory or legal relevance to VELUX (e.g. Energy Performance of Buildings, CO2)
Furthermore, we expect that you:
Have great communication & presentation skills
Are curious and ready to learn new things
Have 5 years of experience in a similar position in a company, or in an NGO, consultancy or public body in related fields

You will be reporting to the Head of Public Affairs in Region SouthWest Europe (BENELUX, France, Italy, Spain and Portugal) and will have regular exchanges with colleagues both from the Region and from the Group.
