For over 24 years, our consultants have been supporting and guiding our clients to achieve low-carbon climate-resilient development. We have achieved a 99% success rate in unlocking climate finance which has led to the successful mobilisation of over USD 7 billion of climate finance from global climate funds, including the GCF, GEF and Adaptation Fund. This is a role for someone with significant experience either working with, for or alongside the GCF to develop both Concept Notes and full Funding Proposals. They should know, understand, and have worked with the GCF funding process and be fully familiar with all requirements.
E Co. is currently experiencing a period of significant growth and the candidate will be required to hit the ground running, coming up to speed with each assignment's requirements and leading a team forward to deliver excellence for the client whilst also keeping within budget, on time and within scope. Duties As Senior consultant, you will lead multiple assignments, be a key expert delivering excellence within the organisation in certain sectors, manage clients, represent E Co. externally, support knowledge management practices, support teams and colleagues' professional development, and contribute to the strategic growth and development of the organisation.
Strategy and business development Understand the strategic initiatives of theConsulting team Understand and adopt E Co's company objectives Represent E Co. externally to build and enhance E Co's reputation Marketing & Communications: contribute to campaigns and content (blogs, report articles, social media posts, podcasts, webinars, etc.) to enhance our position as a force in a particular focus area Consulting/Billable Ensure that all assignments under your supervision are delivered on time, within scope and budget and of high quality Lead multiple assignments Manage assignment teams comprised of both internal and external experts Contribute to bid development and provide technical support to the Bid Development team Acting as Assignment lead
Management of the contract, scope, budget, resource plan, the allocation and - programming of activities, and product delivery Ensure accuracy, timeliness, and cost effectiveness Ensure compliance with E Co. processes and assignment management / standard operating procedures Identify issues and bottlenecks in a timely manner and seek support where necessary Ensure the delivery of the assignment deliverables with quality Oversee client management and develop an understanding of the client's expectations and manage those in line with the contract and scope of work Ensure quality communication with clients Ensuring the highest level ofclient experience Manage third-party assignment relationships (external experts, partners, other stakeholders) Management and developmentof theConsulting team Lead, manage, and hold accountable (LMA) consultants in active assignments under your management Act as both line manager and mentor to a pool of internal Consultants and Analysts Model best practice behaviour in the use of E Co's assignment management tools Provide constructive input into the continuous development of E Co's assignment management and knowledge-sharing tools Support knowledge management & learning in a defined area and contribute to others; share knowledge and exemplary behaviours through mentoring, assignment quality assurance, retrospectives, assignment presentations and communities of practice Personal development Self-reflection: Request constructive feedback and offer feedback (perspective on their learning) following each sprint/deliverable/assignment Learning and development: Identify and participate in personal knowledge expansion opportunities, in consultation with your line manager, and maintain a record Administration and compliance Follow all administrative assignment management / standard operating procedures within E Co. Provide constructive input into the continuous development of all E Co. assignment management / standard operating procedures Plan and log your own working time (non-billable/billable) in the online time-tracking software Active use of E Co's CRM software and processes Essential requirements Solid track record/knowledge and experience in one or more of the following:
-Climate policy (at international, national, or local levels)
-Adaptation - Biodiversity/Nature-Based Solutions/Ecosystem-based adaptation
- Water, agriculture, forestry and land use
- Industry, energy, and infrastructure decarbonisation
- Gender inclusion, social protection, and climate vulnerability
- Climate impact assessment including GHG calculations
- Climate finance mechanisms and processes (eg. GCF, GEF, AF) Postgraduate degree – MBA, MA, MSc, PhD
An outstanding academic and career record
Excellent interpersonal skills - empathetic and open
Proven and recent experience working with GCF and international development organisations, agencies, and banks is essential for this role (experience with other funds is welcome)
Successful track record in sustainability/low-carbon/climate change projects or programmes – e.g. market assessment, project design, policy development, and impact evaluation
Willingness to travel on assignments to Africa, Asia-Pacific, Latin America, and Eastern Europe
Strong oral and written English communication skills, with exceptional attention to detail
Highly conversant with internet and Microsoft Office applications
Able to structure and process qualitative and quantitative data and draw insightful conclusions from them
A minimum of 8 years of relevant experience Highly desirable -Relevant experience in Africa, Eastern Europe, Latin America, and/or Asia-Pacific
- Fluency in another language (including French, Russian, Arabic, Turkish, Portuguese, Chinese, and Spanish)
- A wide network of contacts in the sustainable and international development sector
