Senior Investment Manager About the company Our client is a venture capital fund, on a mission to solve the most pressing needs of our time, by investing in innovative pre-seed and seed companies, whose Founders share the same ambition to leave a mark in the world.
The fund aims to build a large portfolio of diversified and permanent companies, guided by their investment theses, which systematically address macro trends and uncover market gaps, within the following focus areas: sustainability transition, responsible technology, human advancement, and healthcare development.
They believe that the most valuable investments combine financial returns with social and technological advancements and this can be achieved only by nurturing revolutionary entrepreneurs with exceptional talent, who can tackle the most challenging problems with transformative solutions.
This is why, unlike other funds, they are not just investing, but also partnering with Founders, by providing the strategic advice of its Limited Partners, who have previous successful entrepreneurial experience, and by offering access to a Venture platform, designed to validate ideas, launching MVPs, structuring scalable operations and teams.
The fund is based in Milan and currently has 10 portfolio companies across Germany, the UK, the USA, and Italy.

The Role The firm is currently looking for a Senior Investment Manager, who will be the right hand of the CEO in setting up and running the fund's operations, leading transactions from inception to closing, managing the investment team, and representing the company to a variety of stakeholders.
We are looking for someone who shares the fund's ambition to become one of the most relevant impact operative funds in Europe and who is willing to join an early-stage project to be set up from the ground up.
Here are the main responsibilities:
- Draft investment thesis: analyzing the market, looking for macroeconomic factors that may lead to an original investment thesis within the sustainability transition, responsible technology, human advancement, and healthcare development areas. Usually, an investment thesis design requires a deep work of research and experts interview coupled with a good understanding of the market and a strong set of creative skills, curiosity, quantitative and structured in analyzing data and numbers, often embracing a contrarian view.
- Feed and manage the dealflow: the fund aims to do approximately 10 investments yearly, mostly in Pre-seed or Seed startups, whose business falls within the investment theses. The Head of Investments is responsible for scouting new deals, leading negotiations with Founders, structuring deals, and closing them.
- Due diligence: review documentation and data rooms of potential targets, performing financial due diligence, background checks, and/or additional industry research to conduct interdisciplinary evaluation of new investment opportunities, including business model analysis.
- Lead the investment team: managing a team of 1 associate and 2 analysts, by hiring new resources and bringing in structure and processes, with full autonomy and decision power.
- Networking initiatives: engaging with other international investors, finding partnerships, representing the fund in conferences or events, and finding other creative initiatives to expand the fund's network.
- Monitoring and nurturing: maintaining relationships with entrepreneurs and their teams, monitoring their performance, supporting with strategic financial advice, if needed, alert the Limited Partners in case of red flags.
- Reporting: creation of detailed information memorandums, synthetic financial and fundraising efforts reports (incl. fundraising documentation).

The ideal candidate has international experience, exceptional leadership skills and is not just looking for a regular job, but for the opportunity to make a difference, by contributing to the company's success as one of the first members of the management team.
The new Senior Investment Manager is driven by the desire to leverage a good amount of expertise in the Venture Capital industry to change the way things have been done and make a meaningful, positive change.
Here are the requirements for the role:
- 4 to 8 years of experience in Venture Capital, preferably with an impact thesis,
- Experience in deep tech, particularly climate, bio, health, infrastructures, or other sectors that require some technical due diligence,
- International experience, preferably in the UK, central European countries, or the USA,
- Successful track record of working in high-pace contexts, such as investment banking or high-growth startups is a plus,
- Excellent leadership, communication and stakeholder management skills,
- Ability to thrive in a dynamic, still unstructured, fast-paced, and diverse environment,
- Resilience, with a 'can do' attitude,
- Advanced level of spoken and written English, also Italian would be a plus,
- Based in or willing to spend 1 week monthly in Milan - Italy,
- Availability to also frequently travel abroad.
? What they offer

- You will never get bored working alongside an interdisciplinary and passionate team on many different ventures, in many different industries,
- A pivotal role in shaping the new born fund, to create a new type of asset manager: one which is sustainable, solving social or environmental problems, leveraging on expertise rather than just network,
