Ideal candidate will have extensive knowledge in contractor's professional protective indemnity (CPPI). Experience with owner's protective professional indemnity (OPPI) and architects/engineers (A&E) is not required but favorable. Minimum experience of 5+ years.Reporting into the Construction Professional executive, this newly created position of Senior Underwriter of Construction Professional products will require the individual to work closely with an established professional team to strengthen distribution channels, develop, underwrite and manage a book of Construction Professional Liability business nationally. Although we are open to the candidate's location, the preferred location is Chicago, IL or Alpharetta GA.This position is open to a hybrid or remote work environment. The hybrid work environment requires a minimum of three predetermined days in the office per week. This position requires having the ability to travel and meet with brokers, clients, and attend industry and company meetings in person.Responsibilities:• Underwrite a profitable book of contractor's professional business with a focus on mid-size to large accounts.• Develop and manage broker relationships.• Develop internal relationships with other profit centers.• Stay current with construction industry activity and trends.• May be asked to mentor less experienced staff and assist in the development of ongoing training.Desired Experience & Qualifications:• 5+ years experience underwriting contractor's professional liability (CPPI).• Underwriting expertise in CPPI (Contractor Professional). Expertise in OPPI (Owner Protective) and A&E (Architects and Engineers) is not required, but favorable.• Experience underwriting annual practice, project specific, excess and quota share placements.• Strong retail and wholesale broker relationships.• Proficient construction industry knowledge.• Strong communication, negotiation, influencing and presentation skills.• Creative problem solving skills with the ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks.• Strong analytical and quantitative skills for risk and insurance metrics.• Energetic and likeable with a sense of urgency and get it done attitude.For this position, we expect to offer a base salary in the range of USD $165,000 to USD $210,000 (New York), USD $150,000 to USD $190,000 (Chicago), USD $140,000 to USD $180,000 (Georgia), USD $160,000 to $200,000 (Los Angeles).
