Job Description
Your purpose will be:
To assist with maintaining and improving the physical appearance and operational efficiency of the hotel including physical, mechanical, electrical and plumbing.
You will be accountable for: Identifying and carrying out all maintenance/redo requirementsKeeping systems in top operating conditionMaintaining highest standards for the maintenance and safe operation of issued tools and equipmentCarrying out nightly plant checks/record and passing on to departmental leadersIdentifying opportunities for engineering related improvements across the hotelYour key responsibilities & contribution will be: To respond to all guest repair and departmental repair requests promptlyTo look after designated plant rooms report defects and keep cleanTo be first point of contact for other departments job requestsTo regularly check stock and to report to supervisors what needs orderingCommunicate rooms and areas needing repair and time lines on how long the work will takeTo meet all service standards in every guest interactionTo keep all equipment and tools provided by the hotel are kept in good repairTo work well alongside other departments and other colleagues within the department to ensure smooth running of the hotelCommunicate any delays due to any unforeseen problems in a timely manner so expectations can be managed To keep work areas clean and tidy at all times and use signage provided by the hotelCoverage of night shiftsMaintaining a high standard of personal grooming and appearance Qualifications What you will need to do in this role? 3 – 5 years engineering backgroundBasic plumbing and electrical (supported by qualified electrician).Reasonable knowledge of BMS, training providedReasonable knowledge of plant (AHUs, Boilers,Chillers, ect)Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written with the ability to communicate effectively with people of all levelsEnthusiastic and positive personality with the ability to build trusting relationshipsAbility to multi task and problem solve in a fast paced environmentProven organisational skills. Work well on your own. Able to set and meet deadlines with quality resultsFlexibility to work different shifts including night shifts
