As a Space Business Development Bid Manager, the candidate will join a collaborative team to develop innovative nano-satellite vehicle solutions for multiple proposals/customers. The role demands a blend of technical and programmatic understanding and strong business acumen, coupled with strong interpersonal and strategic skills. The individual will be responsible for the organization of Bids and Proposals, collection of the technical, programmatic and financial information, and the coordination and writing of the proposals, as well as the definition of strategic collaborations with other Companies, with the aims of:
Managing the teams' efforts in the bidding and business development processes Presenting to the customer the solution proposed for the specific tender Demonstrating how requirements will be met Outlining the work logic, the problem areas identified, and the mitigation approach proposed Directly follow up with the customer to get feedback and provide clarifications Engaging with potential customers in International events Specific tasks may include: Proactively search for new leads and bids in the international, commercial and institutional published tenders. Support the CEO in the strategic definition of the business pipeline. Strategic Planning and Process Management: Take ownership of the end-to-end bid process, which includes the introduction and implementation of necessary bid procedures, governance, and processes. Assemble and manage a bid team with diverse skills necessary for preparing and submitting winning bids. Interact autonomously with Customers, engaging in programmatic and preliminary technical discussions with the goal of concurring on the optimal value vs. price solution. Creating the bidding consortium with suitable partners for the technical solution to satisfy the customer requirements. Crafting persuasive and detailed proposals, conducting research, and brainstorming key points to include in the bid process. Perform risk tracking and management throughout the bid process, prepare and review the commercial aspects of the bid, and resolve complex technical, strategic, and business issues. Proactively interact with the Customer to be ready for the next steps in the proposal process. Report to Business Development Managers and CEO for proposals review and iterations. Liaison with members of the bid consortium for their contribution to the proposal. Prepare and maintain proposal templates. Collaborating with the administrative department for all the bureaucratic tasks involved in the bidding processes. Collaborating with the Program Management department for the proposal drafting and the organization of newly acquired programs. NOTE: Vacancy is expected to be filled in no more than 30 calendar days from the completion of the hiring process. Bachelor's degree in an Engineering-related field is preferred Minimum 3-5 years of work experience in the small satellite industry Understanding of Satellite Technology: Knowledge of small satellite design, manufacturing, and operations Strong organizational skills aimed at multi-tasking and work management Understanding of Program Management key aspects, such as schedules, costing, budgets Industry Knowledge: familiarity with EU / International Space Industry players Networking: Capacity to build and maintain professional relationships within the space industry Continuous Learning: Commitment to staying updated with the latest technological advancements, news and industry shifts Analytical and Problem-Solving skills: Ability to tackle complex problems and find innovative solutions Technical Analysis: Ability to evaluate proposals, understand engineering constraints, and assess project feasibility Meticulous attention to details Proficient communication and negotiation skills, the ability to provide and receive feedback for collective team development, comfortable working at the CEO/Director level both internally and externally Familiar with Microsoft Office suite, including Project and SharePoint Organized and methodic. Responsible for the maintenance of a database of previous proposals and common technical/management sections (writing effort optimization purposes) Adaptability: Dynamic and flexible in changing priorities and adapting to last-minute requests Delivery-oriented skills are required (on-time delivery is a crucial requirement) Fluent in English and Italian He/She is responsible for the definition and design of each bid, together with the related description in the proposal volumes Ability to work in a multidisciplinary team Ability to communicate across the team and report to the Business Development Managers Financial Acumen: Understanding of business finance, budgeting, and economic principles relevant to space projects.
