Job Title: Sport Physician Reports to Head of Sport Science Job Overview: Inspire Institute of Sport is recruiting a Sport Physician to join our Sports Medicine team. With the increased demand and support required for our female athletes to help assist with the screening and support of our female athletes, preference will be given to female candidates. The preferred candidate will support all athletes, providing medical, health and injury management services Responsibilities: To be the first point of call on site for any ailments, conditions, illness or injuries daily, and provide recommendations for subsequent interventions. To lead regular medical meetings with sport science team members regarding injury prevention, injury management and athlete return to play. To advise athletes and coaches on the uses and possible consequences of medication and ergogenic aids and oversee the WADA compliance program. Participate in continuing education activities to improve and maintain knowledge and skills amongst peers and subordinates (nurses). Advise athletes, coaches and staff to modify or cease training and competition practices that are potentially harmful to health and injury. Direct, coordinate and oversee bi-annual health and injury screening examinations to minimise sports injury risks to optimise training/ competition. Assist with female athlete health support and screening in-line with the needs and requirements of the athletes. Maintain up to date medical records and adhere to all forms of athlete management protocols using the athlete data management system. Attend meetings as required based on the request of the Head of Sport Science and Coaches. Manage purchasing of medical specific equipment within an allocated budget. Instigate, inspire and conduct research based on India's developing athletes with the purpose of publication and presentations at international conference Education/Qualifications/Experience: Medical Degree (MBBS, MD or equivalent) with specialization in Sports Medicine training (Master, Fellowship, PhD or equivalent). Registration with the relevant Board within India or own country of origin. Minimum of 3 years' experience in working as a Sports Physician working with the athletic population. Sound understanding of other disciplines within the Sport Science Department (Physiotherapy, Physiology, Nutrition, Medicine, Psychology).
