Survivability & Structural Engineer - CETENA Italy - Genova Job descriptionWe are looking for an engineer to be part of our Numerical Naval Architecture group; activities will be focused on, but not limited to, ship survivability programming, modelling and analysis. Specifically, the new hire will develop parts of an existing ship survivability code together with experienced colleagues and external resources, will build naval ship models, perform survivability analysis and develop numerical models within FEM simulation environments about air-blast, underwater shock & whipping phenomena. The new hire will be part of a team of survivability and structural experts with different backgrounds and degrees of seniority and will be involved in both R&D projects and technical consultancy. RequirementsEducationMaster Degree / PhD in naval architecture / mechanical engineering or similar Skills and experienceMandatory: Experience with programming in C# or similar languageExperience/interest in the development, validation, industrial application of new computational methods.An attitude to team working, problem-solving and to supporting customers/project partners.Good understanding of technical drawings ( general arrangements) Nice to have: Experience with Visual StudioNaval architecture / mechanical design backgrounds Bonus: Experience with FEM codesExperience with CAD codesGood command of English, both written and verbal.
