We promote excellence in basic and applied research such as neuroscience and cognition, humanoid technologies and robotics, nanotechnology, materials for a truly multidisciplinary scientific experience.YOUR TEAMYou will be working in a multi-cultural and multi-disciplinary environment, where technicians and scientists with backgrounds in chemistry, physics and biology collaborate, each with their expertise, to carry out a scientific activity with a shared research goal. In particular, you will dedicate most of the time to support the two groups of Polymers and Biomaterials group is led by Nicola Tirelli, and of Nanobiointeractions e Nanodiagnostics group, led by Pier Paolo Pompa. Your main responsibilities will be:- to maintain the general efficiency of the laboratories hosting the two groups, to ensure that routine and extraordinary maintenance is carried out on the instrumentation available, and to organize appropriate training for the operation of such instrumentation.- to support the members of the two groups in the use of the above instruments, including the direct operation of some of them.- to cooperate in the organization of routine laboratory activities, such weekly cleaning, organization of lab roles, labeling of communal structures, appointment of managers for each instrument).- to support the organization of consumables and stocks (chemical products, glassware and plastic products), a) ensuring adequate positioning within the laboratory spaces and in the storage rooms, and b) keeping the technical documentation updated (safety data sheets, user manuals, standard operating procedures), c) updating the inventory of chemicals and checking periodically its correspondence to the actual situation in the laboratory. - to contact suppliers of consumables and laboratory equipment, requesting quotations and evaluating the purchasing activity in compliance with the technical specifications and timing necessary to research activity. - to create purchase requests according to the Foundation's rules, using the SAP management system for finalizing purchase orders in collaboration with the relevant administrative figures.- to control incoming goods, verify their consistency with respect to the purchase requests made, and organize their sorting, placement and cataloging. - to prepare, label and dispose chemical wastes, including their delivery to the temporary warehouse.- to install and maintain laboratory equipment in cooperation with the technical facility of the Foundation.- to work together other laboratory technicians to standardize the guidelines for laboratory operations within the two groups and in other research lines.- to prepare the appropriate documentation for sending / receiving goods and / or moving / handling of laboratory equipment.- Furthermore, the candidate will receive adequate internal training concerning Prevention and Protection for the Health and Safety of Workers, in order to be able to carry out short information and training courses and guarantee adequate surveillance in the laboratories.
