Hauptaufgaben Incumbent serves as a working leader of four or more employees in accomplishing trades and labor work. Passes on to other workers instructions received from supervisor, demonstrates proper work methods and starts work. Ensures that needed plans, blueprints, material and tools are available, and that needed stock is obtained from supply locations. Checks work in progress and, when finished, for compliance with supervisor's instructions on work sequence, procedures, methods and deadlines. Answers workers' questions regarding procedures, policies, written instructions, and other directives. Provides information to supervisor on status and progress of work, causes of delays, and overall work operations and problems. Ensures controls check-lists are constantly updated, provides check-lists copies to supervisor, and contributes to establishing new preventive maintenance plans and systems controls check-lists as needed. Ensures that safety and housekeeping rules are followed. Operates, maintains and repairs a complete water utility system consisting of wells, pumps, valves, distribution lines, motors, compressors, storage tanks, water treatment equipment, chemical agent injectors, water softeners, and sanitary sewage disposal systems including lift pumps, grease traps, septic tanks, and waste water lines including sump pumps inside manholes and elevators shafts. Operates, maintains and repairs also water treatment systems related to swimming pools. Performs daily checks on DDC (Direct Digital Control) system of the active alarms (limited to the equipment connected to DDC) to perform advanced trouble shooting of the systems. Uses a variety of hand tools and a small variety of test equipment. Performs daily checks of all water utility system components to ensure their proper operation. Checks water wells to determine the level of the water table. Performs daily readings of associated water meters and pressure gauges, flow and electrical values to determine if equipment is operating within prescribed limits or evaluate if there are water leakages. Using several test devices, checks the chlorine, pH and nitrates content of water. Makes manual adjustments to injectors, pumps and valves, and metered pumps. Performs periodic flushing of water distribution lines to ensure their cleanliness. Through the reading of meters and gages and/or on the basis of observation, also with the support of geophone, isolates leakages and malfunctions in the water distribution system and makes a limited number of repairs or installations. Checks periodically and repairs/replaces damaged fire hydrants and fire pumps. Operates, maintains and repairs sanitary sewage system equipment such as sewer lines, sewer lift pumps, oil/water separators, waste water treatment systems, centrifugal mixers, grease traps and septic tanks. Periodically checks sewer lines to be free from obstructions and performs sewer lines unblocking by using high pressure water jet equipment. Periodically checks grease traps and septic tanks to ascertain the need for and recommend their cleaning. Makes and records a number of readings from various meters. Operates, maintains and repairs first flush rain water treatment systems for proper functioning and periodically performs reading of their water meters. Daily checks swimming pools water filtration and ozone systems to ensure proper functioning, checks chemical products dosing systems, and tests water to ensure it is within the values requested by Law. Performs disassembly, repair or replacement of equipment as needed. Drives vehicles such as vans to and from work site locations. NOTE: Tour of duty is 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday, from 08.00 to 17.00, including a 1-hour uncompensated lunch break.
