Dettagli della offerta

The Associated Press is an independent global news organization dedicated to factual reporting. Founded in 1846, AP today remains the most trusted source of fast, accurate, unbiased news in all formats and the essential provider of the technology and services vital to the news business. More than half the world's population sees AP journalism every day. The Associated Press seeks a talented visual journalist with a history of successful television and online video storytelling to join its team in Italy as a videojournalist. In this role, you'll use video, graphics and editing techniques to deliver visually engaging journalism as part of a dynamic, round-the-clock operation that covers Italy. This is a temporary position starting in June and lasting through the end of 2024. Responsibilities: Reporting to the news director for Southern Europe, you will primarily shoot, write and edit video – including LIVE video – stories from Italy for AP's broadcast, digital and mobile customers and platforms. In this role, you will also pitch, develop and research enterprise stories. You may contribute reporting in other media formats, including text, photos and audio, to help produce a competitive and comprehensive all-formats news report. You must be prepared to travel extensively, including outside of Italy – often at short notice and in hostile environments – to cover breaking news. Preferred Qualifications: You have a demonstrated history of success as a videojournalist, with a record of creating compelling visual journalism on deadline, as well as visual enterprise that is illuminating and entertaining. You must also have advanced technical skills in video content creation. You are creative, innovative and agile, and you work effectively in deadline-driven, dynamic newsroom and field environments, on breaking news and on short- and long-term projects. You can work collaboratively with the diverse team of journalists at the AP who operate in all formats: text, photo, video, audio, digital/social, interactive and graphics. We're looking for someone who has a great news sense and the ability to drive stories that people will want to share, like and talk about on social media and other platforms. You're eager to pursue innovative and inclusive coverage techniques while maintaining AP's standards for integrity and objectivity. You have a track record of success on complex, challenging storylines. As an AP journalist, you must be able and willing to work at night and on weekends as coverage demands. Required Qualifications: Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience, such as three years of full-time news experience as a video journalist at a daily newspaper, broadcast station, digital news outlet, or an AP bureau or regional desk. All applicants must be able to work in Italy or be able to gain permission to do so. Advanced-level professional competency in written and spoken English and Italian. Competency in other European languages is a major plus. Advanced skills in professional video shooting and non-linear editing, preferably with Adobe Premiere. Strong interpersonal, organizational and planning skills, with the ability to juggle multiple projects across formats and work effectively as a member of a team. We will consider strong candidates who do not meet every listed qualification. You may use a cover letter to describe the unique qualifications you would bring to this role.
