Hazard indicators will be derived for the whole globe from reanalysis data and climate projections under different warming levels. Advanced statistical techniques will be applied to assess the temporal evolution of intensity and frequency of extreme events under non-stationary conditions and linked with observed impacts on society and forest ecosystems. Outcomes of this activity will improve considerably the understanding of how extreme climate events are expected to evolve under different warming scenarios and will identify hotspot areas exposed to multiple climate hazards. The work will be conducted within the Horizon SPARCCLE project and the Horizon ECO2ADAPT project in a young and multi-disciplinary team with a wide network of international collaborations.General conditions:Starting date: as soon as possibleContract length: 2 years (to be possibly renewed for a maximum of six years)Opportunity to spend stages in other leading international institutes that are part of the project consortiumExpected attendance to multiple international conferences and workshopsFlexibility in terms of teleworkingOpportunity to joining a young and motivating research environmentHow to apply Contact Giovanni Forzieri (****** )Include in the email subject the reference "Postdoc position in "Modelling extreme climate events""#J-18808-Ljbffr
