APPLICATION CLOSING DATE: May 8th 2024 The Human Technopole (HT) is an interdisciplinary research institute, created and supported by the Italian government, whose aim is to develop innovative strategies to promote human health and healthy aging through a multidisciplinary and integrated approach, combining genomics, computational biology, structural biology, neuroscience and health data science. HT scientists work together to enable interdisciplinary research and to create an open, collaborative environment to help promote life science research nationally and internationally. In line with its mission to serve the research community at large, HT operates National Facilities, specifically aimed at making HT's technologies, methods and tools available to the national scientific community.HT's User Access Office is responsible for managing the access of external Users to HT's National Facilities, including through the coordination of the Convenzione 's provisions in terms of identification of national community needs, publication of open calls for access and evaluation of user access requests, by supporting the Standing Independent Evaluation Committee (SIEC).Human Technopole is looking for a motivated, fast learning Scientific Officer - National Facilities Access to support the starting activities of the office, including the set-up of the access procedures and related documentation and the management of the pilot call for access.The successful candidate will actively contribute to managing the access by Italian researchers to HT's National Facilities, including supporting the publication of open calls for access, assisting applicants, providing administrative support for project evaluation and management of approved projects.Your main tasks and responsibilities:Provide support in drafting and reviewing rules and guidelines for external Users' access to the National Facilities, including open calls for access;Contact and recruit international scientists to support the Committee in evaluation of the requests for access;Provide administrative support during the evaluation process;Assist applicants through the National Facility Open Call help desk;Organize and run review panel meetings for finalizing project ranking;Maintain the National Facilities webpage up to date with open calls and ongoing projects;Support the Users of the National Facilities during remote and physical access;Support National Facility Heads and Managers in managing logistical aspects of user access;Support project follow-up during access;Organise meetings and/or events to promote the offer of the National Facilities;Help develop tools and methods to assess the impact of National Facility activities.Mandatory requirementsUniversity degree in life sciences or other relevant field;Experience in the academic and/or life sciences sector, nationally or internationally;Familiarity with peer-review project evaluation;Fluency in English.Preferred requirementsPhD degree in life sciences or other relevant fieldPrevious professional experience in science management and/or research administration in an international setting;Experience in management of scientific projects;Experience in accessing/ managing access to core facilities or European Research Infrastructures;Experience in managing the submission and evaluation of scientific projects;Knowledge of Italian will be considered a plus;Knowledge of the Piattaforma Integrata Concorsi Atenei (PICA).Organizational and social skillsPro-active attitudeTeam playerFast learner;Good written and verbal communication skills and interpersonal skills;Good problem-solving, organizational, analytical and critical thinking skills;Good negotiation and conflict resolution attitude;Ability to work independently,manage deadlines and changing priorities;Strong attention to detail.Application instructionPlease apply by sending:a full CV in Englisha motivation letter in Englishnames and contacts of two refereesWHY HUMAN TECHNOPOLE?HT seeks for scientific excellence , we recruit the best scientific talents through international, open calls and meritocratic selection procedures.Our working environment is international , friendly and inclusive .
